The Silent Killer

Image result for sin the silent killer

Most of you know, that hypertension is nicknamed, “The silent killer.” After observing patient after patient, doctors found that most patients with high blood pressure have no symptoms to alert them to the elevated pressure. But over time, high blood pressure increases the risk of serious problems such as stroke, congestive heart failure, heart attack, and kidney failure. The blood pressure being elevated, causes a domino effect inside your body. In the Garden of Eden, a similar situation took place, but the silent killer in the garden was sin. God told Adam not to eat of the tree in the middle of the Garden, because the day that he did eat from it, he would surely die. Although they did not fall dead right then and there, they died immediately spiritually. The bible tells us that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Adam and Eve were separated from God after they sinned. Genesis 3:8-9 says: “They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?" God asking the man where He was, is a clearly a rhetorical question. After all, God is the all-knowing, all-seeing God, therefore, He already knew where they were and what they were doing. Why did God ask where are you? Because there was a separation between God and the man. Isaiah 59:2 says: “But your iniquities have separated you from your God.” Don't allow sin to be the hypertension in your life. Examine your life, otherwise, indwelling sin could be killing you softly!
